i'm no expert but i dont thing thats true. i have 5000k HIDs in my headlights and they say the higher you go (like 6000k or 8000k, etc) the less visible light there is. 3000k is yellow, 5000k is white with a little blue, 6000k is blue, 8000k is dark blue. so maybe its that with a 3000k HID kit you get the best light output and it just happens to be yellow and people make them yellow to imitate the 3000k HID kit? maybe its the opposite of what i'm thinking and yellow is the best and it just happens to be 3000k? anyone know for sure?
Not too sure but the bulbs i have in the fogs are 2500k and theyre a pretty contrasting yellow compared to the stock hids

i don't really know if brightness is the issue. Yellow lights cut through bad weather better than any other, such as rain and fog. This is why certain cars come with yellow fog lights stock. I think people mod their lights to be yellow because it stands out on the road. lets face it HID's just don;t stand out anymore because everyone has them. I have yellow hi beams and in rain and fog they are awesome. They are ridiculously bright too.

It's not entirely about the "cutting through." Yellow reflects the LEAST, which is what's looked for in fog. That's why it's illegal to turn on highs while your fogs are on... The manufacturers do not want you to do that. That's also why Le Mans races have yellow, to reduce reflected glare because water particles reflect and blind drivers.

The car is freakin awesome! Not a fan of Gold rims but the color combos are kickin.
