J30t muffler problems

I was just told I need a new muffler for my 1997 J30t. I was quated a price of almost $1100. Most of that was for the muffler (over $1000). Are there no aftermarket mufflers for the J30?

What other options can you suggest.

If there's one in your area, try a custom exhaust/muffler shop, they can hook you up with a muffler for considerably cheaper.

Junkyards for a complete oem system............what did you hit they last 15-20 years.

I don't recall hitting anything, but I haven't actually seen the damage yet. I plan to look at how bad it is before have do anything. Thanks for the info. Will let you know

probably just loose at the connection after the diff.

you know i have the same problem with my 95 j30... my problem is the downpipes...i cant even get the soldred.... need to find down pipes after the manifold.let me know what you find out

stainless welds will rust after 10 years in the salt belt.

just put a magnaflow stainless exhaust on my J30 nice ,but it cost $2200.00 CAN. looks real cool.

Madmax- Did you go 2-1 or duals? I'm thinking of an exhaust upgrade in the spring and wanted to know what others have done. Post some pics.
