J30 won't crank / good battery... starter relay?

Hi My 97' j30 will run for a few days then every so often it wont crank, the battery's good. When I turn the ignition I get nothing but a dashful of check lights. Ive checked all my connections and fuses and find no apparent problem, after a few minutes or up to a few days and it will decide to turn over and run. I am leaning towards it being a starter relay, anyone have this problem and can someone tell me where the relay is located? Any other ideas would gladly be accepted...

First thing I would do is plug in a diagnostic tool and see if you get any codes. It will narrow down your problem.
