are you throwing any codes?
I know it's a bit tough to check a pre-OBD2 car...there are lots of old listings here....
I'm at a loss as well....

I haven't done a diagnostic since replacing the fuel filter and I got a 55 then,(no malfunction) so I will try and check that tomorrow.

silly question...which brand/type spark plugs did you use to replace?

I used the brand suggested for the J30, NGk Iridium double platinum spark plugs. I was aware of the possible issues with the other brands.

I checked the ECU this morning and it's giving me a (34) Knock Sensor Circuit. I was a bit confused because the ECU flashed the long 6 sec blinks twice followed by the (4) 3 sec blinks.

This was the blink pattern.
(3) 6 sec blinks (3) 6 sec blinks (4) 3 sec blinks

Does that make sense?

I guess, but I am not fluent on pre-95 ECU systems.
You might want to try the knock sensor relocation...various threads in this forum

Got it, thank you. I'm researching the knock Sensor and harness replacement now. Just one note, I drove the car after I pull the knock sensor circuit code(34) this morning and the car is driving really well. Good power and good acceleration. It's a strong contrast from my test drive last night after installing the Coolant Temp Sensor. I really don't know if I allowed sufficient time for the car to cool down before even working on it last night, however it still does not explain the code I pulled this morning. ??????

Wouldnt worry too much about knock sensor code...we all get it......
I would clear the code, see if it comes back...then figure if you want to do the relocation.....
If the car is running well, be grateful!

you might want to have someone check your fuel injectors....just a thought....
maybe it's time to invest in someone with a diagnostic machine to check whether it's firing on all cylinders...or maybe remove one ignition coil at a time to see if there's any change? just a thought
