As I posted before I had a problem with my 93 j30 the HICAS light always being on and the steering very stiff, almost impossible to even turn. I took it to one of the local mechanics, he put some type of clamp on it. Two days after I felt the car skid, and again it was hard to steer. He put a bigger clamp on something again. Happened again for the third time, he says the clamp keeps blowing off. and recommend a part some power sterring rear clamp/pump. Now my car is like almost impossible to drive, and to make it worse I am a newbie at cars and driving in general. I don't drive the car hard or tough or anything of that nature, but I don' know what to do. I realize the car is old and discontinued so there may not be to many mechanics who are knowledgeable about it, but any suggestions?

One doesn't hear about HICAS problems very often. I believe some 240s came with HICAS. Check out that area of the site and see if you can gets any leads there. Do you have the mini service manual?

Where is Carlos' web page when I need it? Member Carlos has a Web site called Fuzzycats with some complete parts lists. Check his site to see if you can identify the likely culprit.

On the right, the "Car Specific Forums". Do a goggle for fuzzycats or better yet do a site search. Search button is located at the very top right corner of the page.
