Lighten up man ,, no need for name calling ..And its their not there

im 58 and just pulled my plenum to install six new injecters & 6 new plugs after having changed the timing belt and water pup a few moths ago, and stil ain't no grandpa yet though, fcol; cause dat's our for kids' fault not mine, probibly spending to much time on the net.

Why, I can evn member when ethyl cost less than $0.30 a galon and we had to do a toon up about evry 3 or 4 thousand miles; changing points, rotor, cap and plugs.

A BIG congrats on that granddaughter! I won't tell my wife.

Our youngest got married in January and she's at UW in Seattle, and our youngest son is getting married this coming 02-Aug, so there's a slim chance that someday they'll/we'll have something grand too.

One of the big surprises when doing the water pump/timing belt thing was just how much crud was trapped between/on the radiators.

The old timing belt wrap technique works well with the camshafts and my son came up with a method for wrapping a vinyl coated cable-type dog leash around the pulley/damper that's a lot better than dropping the starter in order keep the flywheel from turning, but being such a youngster, you've probably done all this many times before, in addition to changing your own spark plugs.

I'll work at taking a few photos and posting them in a new thread. I don't like disturbing things that needn't be or jamming tools between otherwise moving parts. The old timing belt and dog leash wrapping techniques are surer, gentler and require no assistance, but it's definitely good to have a helper when it comes to installing the new timing belt.

sounds like a huge age range. I'm feeling old since my son is graduating High school next year. I've had my J for 3 year only 97,000. 67,000 when I got it and drive it every day. I have read enough of the forums to relize that any mods have to be custom which make it even more of a challange and more of a 1 of a kind. so a 350 hp lowered J 30 with a custom body kit would definitly be something that you won't see coming from the other direction. Theres something to be said for a 1 of a kind. You got to have goals.
