Where did you get those washers?

I am having problems with my J30 diff. after I installed. I think I miss placed one of the bushings and now when I get on it I hear the rear knock(I am pretty sure it is not the subframe bushings).

While we are on the subject of these diffs, does anyone know the size of the bolt that connects the output shafts to the axles (5 bolt design)? I re-used the bolts from the 6 bolt stuff, but the OD of the old bolts are smaller than the ID of the 6 bolt holes, so whenever I shift hard or go from reverse to 1st it makes a clunking noise because the bolts can move a little bit. An infiniti part number would be ideal. Thanks!

For the driveshaft issue, would using a j30 driveshaft work/fit? or should i get a custom one piece?

Begin Rant\ Called a local yard for a J30 diff, $300, sounds steep but I really want it. Couple days later, called another yard, $150, laid up on the counter... I'm feeling good now cause I’m gonna save $150. Checked Craig’s List, found one, guy emailed me and said he'd like to get $70, I pounced, gave my number, asked for the address so I could go pick it up, woke the wife up to tell her what I found. I was ecstatic! Checked email the following day probably 50 times waiting for the reply. Finally about 6pm I see an email from him in my inbox... "I sold the differential today" No sorry about that, nothing. I'm so bummed about it.

My wife said, "didn't you find one for $150". Yes, but now that’s over twice the price as I could have had it for.... I'm really pissed about this./End Rant

What? i got mine for about 70~80 from the junkyard. just pull one out and take it. 300 is WAYY too expensive for a used J30 diff.

found one for $100, and that was already pulled with all the bolts and washers. So let's see... a 1.5/2/helica STARTING at $600 or a perfectly good vlsd for 1/6th the price... what ever shall I do?

If I had that kind of cash to throw around on misl parts, I'd bought a Vette

dont mean to be a jerk... I'm just a cheap fugger and bang for the buck is my deal.

Anybody in the Texas DFW area feel free to hollar at me. Found one yard in GP with one for $100 and one in FW (maybe two) for $150, both pre pulled. Dem damm things are heavy, throwed out by back trying to impress the salvage yard guys by getting it in the car myself.

Side note: If I had mega bucks, I'd get old 2jz and highly modify it (saw one leave two black lines at 80mph on youtube), a c5 vette and add turbo or a new Skyline.

Now I just got my diff, and it looks nothing like the pics you posted. I'm wondering if someone could tell me what I have. Its a 4:10 ratio, 0202012 is stamped on bottom. on top is stamped 38311 and under that is 40f00. 5 bolts to axles, 4 to the shaft. will that fit without getting new axles?
Did you ever find out what kind of diff this was? I have this exact diff on my S13 and trying to figure out what it is?
