J30 Alternator

My alternator just broke on my 96 J30. I was wondering what other Nissan cars have the same alternator besides the 300ZX. Also what's the model number on the alternator?

http://www.everythinginfiniti.com has all part numbers, and good prices. Ask for Joe. Yor have a couple of options, buy new OEM as some people say aftermarkets cause problems, or get yours rebuilt from a local shop.

Ok thanks. I think I'm just going to pull one from a junkyard, but I was wondering if there were other Nissan's that shared the same alternator. The J30 is hard to find. From that site it looks like it only shares it with the Q45

300zx. be prepare that the alternator can be difficut to take off/install.

Its not too hard if you have a set of jackstands and some basic tools

the alternator i am currently running is off of a 96 maxima however we completely removed the alternator bracket and made out own using a piece of sheet metal and a dye grinder...took some time but it works great...110 amps is better than 80 or 90

Whatever alternator you select (new or used) stick to Nissan OEM. Aftermarket ones don't last on this car and require frequent replacement sometimes within weeks or months.
