Anybody know if a 300zx or S13 steering wheel adapter would fit the J30? I'm sure there's not much difference between the hub designs but I wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

I just tried the HKB steering wheel hub for S13/S14/300zx/Maxima hub from ebay and it does NOT fit our J30s.

The inlet port for the hub is too small / the J30 steering spline is too big.

Ill update this thread instead of making a new one if i ever do find one.

** I WANT TO THANK TOUGE FACTORY FOR PROVIDING ME WITH THE HUB! VERY LEGIT PEOPLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH. ORDER FROM THEM!---> http://www.tf-works.com/ **

Eureka! Found a steering wheel hub that finally works! Its indeed the Works Bell Hub # 625 Dual SRS. The only issue is i cant seem to make the horn work. then again i kinda messed up the SRS connections a bit.

on to the pics:

First off! Follow This youtube video on how to remove steering wheel (USE a T50 instead of a 45 in the video)

(thanks to my brother Alex for the pics)

You do NOT have to take this part off. I did it for no reason. DO NOT!

The hub fits over the plastic SRS thing (dont know the name)

Overall it looks neat. I have the SRS light going off and i lost the horn function ;(

Luckily i still have the feedback from my turn signals. Hope you guys find this useful! :)

Did you ever get the horn to work? I bought the Worksbell 629S hub and paired it with an NRG quick tilt and steering wheel and its all compatible with the J30. I'm trying to get the horn to work, do you think since we removed the cruise control control unit that that might have something to do with the horn function not working? Did you rewire and relocate your cruise control buttons? Thank you for your time and effort on figuring out how to get an aftermarket steering wheel on the J30!

I did get the horn to work but it wasn't really a nice solution lol. I tapped into the harness and wired a momentary switch which is mounted thru the steering column shroud. If you have an FSM you should be able to find the horn wire with some searching thru wiring diagrams. I'm running NRG short hub with NRG quick release so I didn't bother much with trying to run wires thru it. If the Worksbell hub allows you to keep your clock spring then it's still possible to wire things thru it but I manual swapped my J30 so I totally did away with the cruise control mechanism so I don't have any way to use cruise control anyway. I hope that helped at least a little bit.

Thanks for replying. The Worksbell hub I'm using does allow you to keep the clock spring. I guess I'm going to have to get to work. I'll take a look at the wiring diagrams in the FSM. Thanks!

Yeah, no problem. I'm always excited to see people who are crazy enough to try and mod their J30 lol
