I replaced the brakes and rotors on a 92 J-30 about 1500 miles ago for my d-n-law's car. After the above miles she said a clunk sounds when braking at any speed. So I drove it and she is right. I have some thought about what it is. Maybe the caliper is lose or the drive axel has play in it, or front end parts have play in them aaas I apply the brakes it sounds like the clunk is from play is being taken up from the force of the brakes.

First if I'm close, how do I check any of this out?

Second if I'm not close how do I check any of this out?

Thank You for your help.

take the wheels off, check the calipers, the rotors, make sure the pads are seated in the calipers right, check the end links on the sway bars.

I pulled the drag links and they are worn so that they make a click sound when I push/pull on them. So maybe this is it I took them off and they are sloppy on the top side, I hope this is it. Thanks 4 the help I'll let u know soon.
