w00t!!! I got it started (again) tonight! I first installed this motor back in october of 2003. I then pulled it back out in July of 2004 due to bad rings. After I go into the motor, I found that not only were the rings worn, but the #3 cylnder was scored. Sooo time for a rebuild. Jump forward to today. I have since completely rebuilt the motor, forged pistons, (stock rods, re-shotpeened), balanced bottom end, blueprinted, cleaned, over-bored, all new bearings, oil pump, water pump, timing belt, timing guide, timing tensioner, minor polish on the head (cleaned up casting marks and port-matched), KA throttle body, SSAC turbo mani, modified S14 T28, Flyn Dumpipe, custom test pipe, Apex N1 Single, custom intercooler piping and mid-mount (that's what I'm calling it anyway) intercooler, and, ofcourse, SDS standalone.

I had some minor hiccups with the coil packs on monday, but I got that resovled today. I also had a weird thing with the #3 injector not wanting to fire (they're brand new, never used injectors). It went away on it's own, so I'm not complaining. After I got those 2 things sorted out, it started right up on the first try! I thought for sure I'd have to tinker with it to get it running.

After I got through the preliminary stuff I had planned on trying to at least do some minor tuning, but my damn O2 sensor appears to have crapped out on me. I'm planning on getting a wideband, but I don't have the dough quite yet. So I'll just have to use the narrowband for now. Anway, just wanted to share my night. Thanks guys!

Well I may hold off on tuning it. The damn O2 sensor is $70!!! That's a third of the price of the wideband I want. And there is a local place that just got a new dynojet, but it won't be ready until the end of this month. Damn the luck...
