In a high hp rebuild ? my crank is .25 over already. It doesnt look bad i was thinking maybe i micro polish and nitride coat it. If turning is kind of a mandatory thing then i will buy SingleCamSams stock crank and turn to .25. The only reason this is bothering me is because im shooting for 550rwhp. Thanx

no, it shouldnt be necessary, but for peace of mind and to ensure that everything is in tip top condition, then you might as well. 550 alot. It got around to almost there, but that was with nitrous, and alot of race gas 116

Hmmm, I've heard that micropolishing is very hard to do and most machine shops still dont have it automated...I think I'm going to leave my crank alone since I've been very careful with it since I took it out and after 110,000 miles there was NO bearing wear to speak of.

hey I don't wanna thread jack but I keep hearing about people maching or "undercutting" their crank.I don't know what turing a crank ".25 over" means.I'm going to be rebuilding a high mileage engine and I wanna make sure I don't have any problems with my rods, crank, or bearings.
