In the Chilton Manual for the 240sx it says the 93 has 8.6:1 yet the 95-98 are 9.5 is this correct? If so wouldnt it be best to use S!S14 pistons in the S13?

i believe the 91-94 ka24de had 9.2:1 CR. i was under the assumption all dohc ka24de had same compression ratio. if you rebuilt using the ka24e sohc 8.6:1 pistons your cr will be raised much higher than either s13 or s14 dohc standard

Chilton's sucks for that kind of stuff.

SOHC was either 8.6:1 or 9.1:1 - It was changed when they added the air temp sensor.

All years DOHC are 9.5:1, for the S-chassis KA24DE.

And as for piston swapping - The lower compression SOHC pistons will yield a 11.1:1 when used in a DOHC...
