I am about to buy a 97 SE red 240sx, black interior all power, sunroof, 5 spd, 76500 miles, completely stock, theres 2 minor exterior problems, 2 dings on pass fender, and the drvr door has been repainted, decent, but you can still tell an orange peel effect, with a slight difference in clear coat. Other than that its nice.He wants 8000 for it, is this a good deal?

Anyone know anything else I should look for before buying? Thanks

Where do you live? I found this 97 240sx Se with 79k and he was asking $6000. Maybe you can check that out. The only thing is that its an automatic. Go to Cars.Com and look up Nissan 240sx and use zip code 36867 within 250 miles of that. You should see it. But it might be too far from where you live.

Why did YOU buy a car with an auto then?

MY S14 is a 5-speed. :D

Granted, it's not sitting my driveway yet, but it's 20 minutes away and will be with me, under my ownership, soon. ;)

Stick are hard to find as hell for 97-98 240. It took me 5 months to find mine. Thank God I didn't take the easy route and get the auto.

HEY HEY HEY! There is NOTHING wrong with an auto! God, you act like it's the end of the world! Your car is pretty quick already, and yes, i know with a 5 speed driving is more fun + you shave off time in your 1/4 run, but it's still an S14.

I tell myself that everyday : )

That sounds like a good deal but you may get it down lower. I got my 97 SE last year (had 28K in it) and paid $12K off a mitsubishi dealer out in tampa bay. Hehe...definitely get a 5-speed. :pface

Yeah, I'd probably try to get him down a bit. I'd still consider 8 grand a good price for a 97 w/ a five speed. They're rare as all hell to find.

My 93 coupe I bought last summer from my Mom for $3,600. How many miles did it have on it? Ticker just hit 50k. I'm a lucky little ba*tard. Now it's almost got 67K and running strong. Could use a new clutch, though. I'm pretty hard on this one. :)

Nick.
