Hello all. I am going to be going ka-t and a couple of months and still thinking about some things before I go full throttle with this project. My main concern is the fuel management of the ka. What I plan to do is:

370cc injectors walbro fuel pump msd ignition system safc-ac hacked-maf

I plan to only run 4-6psi on this setup. please critizise this as much as possible.

If you're only doing 4-6 psi, you don't need anything more than a fuel pump and a good FMU...but, if you're anything like me, you WONT be satisfied with 4-6 psi, and will crank it up a bit, so if you have the money, do the fuel system right the first time...I'd say yours sounds good up to 10 at least...

no, search about it. It's where you have 2 MAF's but only one is actually functioning. Don't know much about it personally.

More commonly it's where you increase the size of your MAF (while retaining the stock sensor element) the same percentage as you increase the injector size.

Sorry for the thread hijacking/n00b questions, but after you hack your MAF/get new injectors, you need a whole new ECU tuning ($550!!!!) as well, correct?

The idea is to get around needing your ecu tuned for it...the larger MAF fools the computer and balances out the larger injectors. It seems to work OK although I personally feel more comfortable with my sizeable turbo system/engine investment getting the ECU re-tuned.

I was thinking of getting my ecu retuned also. But that is kind of pricey. But I know it will be a safe setup. Well how does this other setup I was thinking of sound.

370cc injectorswalbro fuel pumpjwt upgrade ecustock maf

i wanted to thank everybody so far for their comments so far.

That's a good setup and one that they frequently do at JWT...the only change I would make would be upgrading the MAF. BUT, if you can actually stick to 4-6psi then your original idea should work pretty well. It's just hard to stick to your guns on the boost setting :D

i heard JWT ecu tends to run richeven tho its safe, you're gonna have bad gas mielage and loose a bit of horsepower

best bet is to run JWT ecu + S-afc

or.. just run stock ecu + S-afc or any other piggyback, the drawback to this is that you're still gonna have have the speed limiter and speed governor in the stock ecu

another thing to worry about is retarding the timingi havent done much research about this but i think MSD make boost type ignition or somesort

but for 5-6 psi.. i think running "hacked mafs" + s-afc is good enough

This is true, they do tend to run a little rich and a lot of people DO use an S-AFC to tune them down a bit. They have to back their product, hence they tune it a little conservatively, something I'm fine with, I'll just turn up the boost...75# injectors dont run out of juice for a while ;)

What 370cc injectors fit the ka24e?
