I have a 94 J30. I took it to a mechanic and was told it needed Radius Rod bushings on the front. He also said it needed a L control arm and ball joint. How hard do you think it would be to DIY. Anyone ever here of a H pipe also for the exaust. I looked for one but only found an X pipe and Y pipe. Any advice would be great. Thank you everyone for the great information also. I was reading alot of the post and this site will definately be the place I go for info.. Great job Kim

My son recently changed ALL of the suspension related bushings on his '86 MR2, pushing the old ones out and the new ones in using a big 3-jaw puller, along with a few propriately sized/thickness bolts and washers. We first severly bent parts on a 6.5 inch shop vise trying to use it. The MR2 books call for a using a 20-ton press.

He used plenty of white grease when pushing the new ones in and was able to cut portions of the old ones off, before pushing them out, again aided by some lubrication. And when pushing the new ones in it often wasn't easy to keep them straight in the beginning.

It takes some amounts of time, lubrication, precision and determination or you might be able to locate someone who has/knows how to use a press.

There is a link here http://fuzzycats.com/j30_diy.htm for the radius rod bushing procedure It is titled tierod. You will need a hydraulic press to R&R the bushings. I got mine from rockauto.com spicer brand and they came sealed in the Nissan packaging in a spicer box
