I think the Altima hybrid is one of the best executed hybrids today. Good mileage, good performance, great value, etc. Since the Altima and Rogue currently share powertrains, do you think a Synnergy-drive Rogue is possible? I don't know Nissan's long-term hybrid strategy since they're in-bed with Toyota, but a hybrid Rogue for a 2-3k premium would be an interesting offering. I see a lot of Escape hybrids around, and I'd assume the Rogue would do well similarly packaged and priced.

It's a shame Nissan hasn't marketed the Altima hybrid more; they don't even sell it in most states; total bummer.

Haven't done much research but I think Nissan is using Toyota hybrid technology, that may have something to do with the limited availability. Fees to toyota per car?? I'm not sure. I'm kinda interested to see where we are in few years with the clean diesel engines. I know its already an option in europe on some of the Rogue's siblings.

With all the recent government decrees about forcing manufacturers to push toward better fuel economy, I would think Nissan already has plans for either Hybrid or Diesel or both. Either would be a nice option for the Rogue.
