ok i am getting conflicting opinions and wondering what the facts are...

i have had one guy tell me that the 3rd gen single cam transmission will fit onto a twin cam engine...

and i have been told also that only the twin cam transmission from the (93-94)3rd gen will fit onto a 4th gen (95-99)

i am doing a changeover to my 96 I30t from an automatic to a 5 speed and am looking for a transmission that will work along with changeover parts...

thanks in advance!

I still have an 89, 91 and 93 SE's all 5 speeds all being replaced by the I30t...

The transmissions themselves are the same for all 5 speed Maximas 1985-2001 (all the RS5F50). Any differences would be from bell housings, shaft outputs, etc (I'm fairly sure it will be different for each of VG, VE, and VQ).
