2013 M56. 66k miles.

Autoparts store tester said I pulled 300A and 318A starts. Does that sound normal

Having starting issues. Not the fail to start click or cam sensors.
It is typical aging battery, slow starts, dead after a few minutes with radio on and Weird charging voltages.

Went to 2 different parts store with same style tester. One said dead battery other said everything is fine.

Currently running desulfate on my Stanley digital charger. If that doesn't help off to Costco for a new battery, but I don't want to destroy batteries if 318 amps is going to kill my battery.

I presume you're talking about either CCA or starter draw, since nothing else on the car should be much over 100A. The battery's CCA rating will be right on the label. If the actual CCA is more than about 10% low with the battery at normal float voltage (around 12.4V) then the battery is shot. Most Nissan V8 batteries are in the 750 CCA range, so 300A would be hopelessly low. Normal starter draw for a V8 is around 200A max, so if that's what you mean then 300A is very high. That would mean either your starter is shorting internally or there's a problem with the engine that's making it hard to spin.

The battery is Infiniti brand, so dont know the CCA, but Interstarte is 750 or so.
But the 300A is the current draw by the starter.

As for loose connections, I am screwed. Arent the starters on top between the heads?

I am flipping regretting getting rid of my G35.

Loose connections can't cause a high current draw from the starter, only a low draw. There are only two things that can cause cause excessive draw, shorted brushes or windings inside the starter or excessive resistance from the engine.

The starter on the VK is located in the valley of the V, the plenum needs to be pulled to access it.
