Depends on your plans. If you want to keep it stock, I'd say 91, coupe or FB. had the best cams, I've heard. Look for LSD also. If you plan to do some serious mods, engine swap or anything, it won't matter as much what year you get, it becomes a matter of which style you prefer.

Its all preferential. Some people prefer the sohc to the dohc engines. Some prefer the coupe s13 to the fb, while others the s14 lines. I loved the s13 dohc FB's when I owned one in 97 then in 99 when I got my s14 I lost interest in the s13's FB but admired the s13 coupe more.

By the way all 91-93's had the same cams.

pick a body style then find a clean 93. it was the last year before the retarded convertible, and newer is 99.99998% better, less mileage=good. good luck with your search young grass hopper

i like s14's, they look better and have the more comfortable seats as long as more roomy on the inside...just if your going to keep the origional motor...swap out your cams with some s13 cams...if your going to do a motor swap then good for you!

All except 89-90 240s come with the same engine. They all handle similarly. Get whatever body style you prefer basically, and what you can afford.

depends what you wantstock styling = s14 (preferably 97/98)absolute light weight = 89 fastback guttedless common 240 = 91-93 coupe or 98 240s....

if you bring the aftermarket into it they all have the same performance options and you can style them how ever you want.

It's more of a matter of opinion like previosuly stated. people like hitman and repoman have bought big ol boat cars because people do get older. And once you get to that age the joints and muscles in the body wear down and lets face it, getting in and out of a 240 aint easy, especially when your middle aged balding and got that extra spare tire (not in the car)

With that beside the s13 seatbelts suck and is a pain getting in and out, yet I think the exterior styling is a little better, the s14's interior is hands down awesome.

whats so good about the s14 interior? The s13's must have really crappy interiors because i have an s14 and theres nothing special about the interior. I say go for an s13 coupe or an s14a.

Well compared to the s13 the s14's interior is really nice.

s14 seats are way nicer than s13...not even a comparison.

Best year...95 s14, you get an s14 without obdII and without the aggressive styling of the 97/98...will be more of a surprise if you make it fast.

S13. im an owner so im going to be a little (lot) biased. The S13 is small, and compact im a short guy 5'4 so it really suits me well. i love the handleing of it and the fact that it has the sporty "must go really fast right now" look to it (the aggressive sports car look with the pop up heads) i love my S13. i so go wit it...thats unless your a tall person.

my friend just got a 98 240sx today and it kicks @zz but contrary to what people have been telling me, you have less room in a s14 than you would in a s13. but i definatly have to agree, the s14 interior styling and comfort (besides lack of space) is superior to the s13

I wish mine was a obdI, would make my life a whole lot easier. I totally agree, but then again I didn't like the color choices with interior color choices. No black interior with the blue emerald paint.....wtf???

Also, the 96 s14's had a better grille, well according to most people. I think it depends on the color of the car.

i'm 6'1" or so and still growing and i fit in my s13 better than perfectly.. i have more room than if i sit in a civic, etc.. the seats go far back enough to make the backseats useless for holding people.. its nice :pface

also, i havent sat in s14 seats, but the s13 seats are pretty comfy.

I'm bias, but I like the looks of the 89-93' Hatches. Interior and exterior. The engine isn't much concern since I'm going to do an RB25DET swap this summer w/ Silvia front clip conversion. But the overall look of the car is BadA$$. :)

You can't go wrong tho with any of the 240sx's(minus the convertible!) Just get a clean one and you'll love it forever and ever and ever :)

Some more info on this 91-93 cam issue? I heard if I swap those cams into my 240sx I gain like 10-15rwhp, but how can they be better cams if all 240sx's 91 and up have equal horsepower? What gives the 94-98 240sx's more power to match the 91-93's better cams to equal hp ratings? I was originally going to get a earlier 240sx coupe like 91-94 but they were hard to find, and when I came across a preaty inexpensive 98, I figured nothing could touch it's reliability being newer and all. But yea the only difference with my car from the other 240sx's is my friends mouths drop when they see mine, that's all, just looks, and well s13's no offence look like beaters because it's very difficult to find one in excellent condition being 10+ years old.

with the given beater look i still leaned torward an 89 f/b. they are very rare in my area but i really wish i would have an extra 1k for a 91, over here the Coupe owners are like original owners seem to be like 30+'ish.. as where me and the only other Fb in Sb are like allot younger he looks like the college type.. but the styling of the Pig face draws back many buyers. but i thought it was great still do wish i still had my lip on it, bought it w/o one..anyway iam just rambling on. So Thread starter, if you want my opinion it all comes down to what you want and what plans you have for your 240, they are all great cars so either route you choose you have made a great decsion.
