could be a fuel pump, the way to test it to hook up an inline pressure gauge so you can verify pressure when the issue presents

could also be mas, or the tps, first thing I'd do is check the ecu for codes

yea the codes in there were the same from the summer when i checked them(which would have thought a new one would have popped up) idle control circuit open or ecu and cant remember the other could the inline pressure gauge just hook up in series with the fuel filter?

yes, just get some extra fuel hose and an inline fuel gauge

Ive got an 84 200sx with a vg30e from a newer 200. I have had this same problem going on and have been even before I swapped over to the 86 ecu and maf. For a while the car had been running decently after disconnecting the o2 sensor. Thinking this was the culprit I changed the 02 sensor yesterday but after plugging it in and driving it a while the same problem arose: engine falls flat on its face if you give it gas or it will eventually go through the revs if you really give it gas. But then, after disconnecting the o2 sensor again it runs and drives mostly normal. Any suggestions? the ecu is giving the "no malfunction in circuit" code 44 any help would be golden ;)

unpluggin the O2 richens the mixture, so you either have a bad maf, ecu, or a timing issue
