Intermittent no start

I have a 93 240sx se super hicas i recently rebuilt the engine and the first time i tried to get it running it was a big pain it ended up needing all 4 injectors re timed and a few small things, I just replaced the head gasket 2 weeks ago and now it wont start. i played with the distributor timing and finally got it to sputter to life and it idled high due to oil smoking on the header i shut it down to clean the oil off now it wont start again. Im almost 100% positive that all the timing marks are dead on and i had spark and i can definatly smell fuel. i looked for obvious problems like grounds and vacuum leaks but iim running out of idea's, Im sure this topic has been brougt up a million times but i couldnt find any situation like mine any help would be greatly appreciated

why did u replace the head gasket?what happened u might not have ne compression from overheating and blowing a head gasket u can actually damage ur rings as well..
