I am in the process of re-doing (if that is really a word) the interior of my S13 coupe. When I took the nasty fabric off the door panels the old material left a kinda cross hatched textured look to the door. I am now just experimenting with just painting that section to match the doors because covering that area is a BIAAATCH to get to look good. the contour of the armrest makes for a pain in the arse. Also attempting to recover the glove box myself. Kind of a pain because the section near the release is recessed and hard to pull the fabric over. If I can figure it out Ill post some pics maybe saturday evening.

For the glovebox just rip off the fabric, use a wire brush and some goo gone or something i cant remember what i used then one you get all the crap off spray paint it black. It looks slick in my car.... its not soft to touch but has a nice texture the way the plastic is grooved.

I just finished covering my door panels and glove box. I think it looks really profesional if i do say so myself. I didnt take the old carpet off. I just went to my local Han**** fabrics, got some material that i liked and used 3M orange spray adhesive to cover them. It worked nicely, you just have to pull it tight, then trim it neatly and use a flat bladed screw driver to tuck it behind the foam on the door. I also covered the glove box by taking the whole thing apart, using the adhesive and then staplegunning it like the factory did to the plastic. When you put the metal trim back on it hides all the staples nicely. I just had to do something because i replaced my seats with some black ones from an S-14. It looks a lot better. If I can post some pics then I will. All I need now is to do something with the backseat?

Yeah I will try. I have never posted a pic on this board. I never really had a reason to do so with a stock 91 hatch ! ! (hahaha) I didn't think anyone cared.

Has anyone tried these? Also what can I do about the capet like material on the sides of the hatch compartment and hatch cover, any ideas about recoloring those?

HUSKE...looks awesome. i'm not too versed on this...what type of fabric is this? do you just get it at any old fabric-type store? are those the S13 or S14 seats there? pics look good man, thanks for the update.

i decided to more closely examine those parts of my door panel...and i just realized its starting to come apart around the edge of the grey. by removing the door panel, then i can remove the inner fabric part?

I got the fabric at my local Han**** fabrics. I am sure you can get something at Wal-Mart or any other fabric store. No you don't have to take the door panel off to get to the fabric, but I did to make it easier to glue it on.

Also, those are s-14 seats I got a a junk yard in Athens, Al. My grey s-13 seats were getting really nasty.

And, to reapply the grey tweed carpet that came stock, you can use some of the same adhesive that I used. (3M orange) Just spray it on and stick it to the foam on the door.
