i watch my a/f gauge when i drive my car, i have the autometer with the led's. when i start my car up i get almost a whole section of leds lit up with a space in between of them not lit up. then i can drive my car is fine. but my leds never zip back and forth anymore they stay in the same spot and gradually get closer to green the longer i drive after about 10 min i can stay at a constant speed and the leds are all the way in the green, can give it gas they stay in the green, let off the gas and drops back down to stoich (yellow) but at soon as i just touch the gas goes back up to green? what could be causing this MAF is fine just replaced temp sensor, could a boost leak do this or isthe cold start not turning of for some reason? any ideas?

Well, the gauge only taps into the O2 wire, so I guess your O2 sensor is messed up. You don't need that gauge anyway, so you might as well get rid of it. If anything, it will deteriorate the O2 voltage signal to the ECU.

I'd guess bad O2 sensor. I'm using one, but I've got it tied into my wideband and so it doesn't read like a normal one.

Right, some widebands have an output for a narrowband gauge and in that case you could still keep it. But seeing as the autometer has no numerical value on it, its pretty much useless. There is a big difference between 13:1 and 11:1

I reprogrammed the output so that it doesn't act like a normal narrowband. Although I don't have any #'s, It quickly tells me if I'm lean or not, and after observing the autometer gauge and the SDS reading, I've got a pretty good idea, were most of the relavent #'s are at.

so ur saying a/f gauge with just leds is pretty much useless then and u think my o2 sensor is bad, ill check the o2 sensor on friday then when i have time. and i should get a a/f with a numerical value on it right?

its not completely useless. it told you that there's a problem with your o2 sensor

It will probably work fine on your car with strock everything, but they are worthless to majpr mods and those who use standalones. I've had a couple of them and they're just there for the looks.
