Something is screwy. I don't know how the ECU might handle having that kind of volatage imputed into it. I hope you didn't toast the ECU...

the MAF's power is supplied by the ECU - it should be approx 5V.

if you have it connected to as 12V source for power someplace, that could cause your voltage to scale too high, it can also damage the ECU. don't know if it'll damage the MAF or not, I think it works as a resistance circuit so as long as the current and voltage don't melt anything it'll probably not be damaged. If the ECU itself is putting out 12V then its already damaged, and the problem.

ok its prolly just hte ecu then yeah i thought i may have fried it but wasnt sure, ill just hook up my other one then, but the reason i switched was to see if it made a dif cause with the one that works i dont get a stable idle and i can smell unburned fuel but my a/f is not running rich and my ecu is not changing loops, its stay constant, not scanning back and forth any ideas? and if i let of the gas it idles way down to a bout 300 then pops back up to about 700 tops and jumps up and down. just replaced the temp sensor last night didnt help and the maf is to spec when hooked up to other ecu any ideas?

what sort of wiring harness work was done, you might want to double check all the sensor connections get power where they should and connect where they should..

if you look on my site here I have the diagram in one big image, or you can DL the FSM from the stickies and print out the pages there (handier for actual work)
