Well guys this is NOT dead :) As I've said, even if no one jumps in, I'll go at it alone and get it done.

So the verdict is this...: I'll have some updates soon.

I had some things come up in real life and that all slowed me down... on top of that sourcing those brackets took some time, I ordered them from the states and this time paid the most expensive fedex mail which got to him sonic speed fast unlike last time when it took 3 months for the rack to ship. He now has from me a brand new OEM rack brackets and polyurethane bushings for s13 and s14. If someone could send him z32 ones then z32 becomes a possibility. As far as I know the r32/etc... are also the same deal... I am going for a solid s13 rack though.

Also with the KA24DE to get rid of power steering and have one belt that drives crank/water/alternator you just need a 35" 3 rib belt and upper, lower alternator brackets and water thermostat off a KA24E. For AC retention it's a different belt but I can't recall now. I am going all out track car.

For LS1/2/3/6/7 getting rid of PS is also doable.

For SR guys I am not sure what the brackets/belt/etc... is.

I can't wait to get my hands on it finally :)

Also fyi guys:

HICAS Steering Rack Ratio: 14.9:1
Non-HICAS Steering Rack Ratio: 17.0:1

Turns From Lock to Lock:
HICAS - 2.6
Non-HICAS - 3.1

rx7s have a 3.6 lock to lock & 17.4:1 ratio for manual and 2.7 lock to lock and 15.2:1 for power.

:) The one he is offering can be 2:1 to 2.4:1. I'll discuss options with him when it's finalized.

I apologize for the delay in all this... it's hard to make a unique product with so little demand + family life/etc... this is just a hobby for me and an expensive one at that... People seem to be more so groupie mentality and just do whatever everyone else does and don't jump to things that cost a bit or are out of the ordinary too much.

Just an update again. Sorry for the delays for those still tuned in.

The delay has been as a result of the contractor that's suppose to do the CNCing, basically its the same factory that is now making the suspension for the new mclaren supercar... and in a nutshell they wanted to DOUBLE the price from the current price (or in other words get rid of Jon/atomic rex).

Jon spent alot of time looking for other contractors that could do high quality machining... he has found one and the price is lowered! And hopefully production should start soon.....finally.... its a slow process but it'll happen.

price is lowered to I believe if i recall reading now from Jon 880$, I just got off the phone with him as well and he apologizes for all the delays... Hopefully... some schematics/drawings to post up soon..

So I spoke with Jon today and it looks like the target is mid-late September... to have it in my hand hopefully. It's been an adventure alright, but even the rx7 guys have actually been waiting!

well to put it in perspective if u wanted it tomorrow delivered the other machining shop would have it done for you for 2000USD... ya they are f*** ***holes not jon's fault... just becaus they fancy themselves now making the new mclaren's supercar bits n pieces.... thats corporations for ya...

To put it in perspective they dont give a s*** about rx7s or 240s when they are working with the likes of f1 teams, mclaren, etc... etc... sigh...

And as you know you always gotta pay to play... and u know u gotta pay for the likes of ppl like that and parts like that.

Well the good news again is that the alloy used with this new machine shop is stronger grade... and again cheaper than even the initial price in question so hey hey :) Good things come to those that wait... so dont worry... i know its always hard to get things going when its a first time thing....

To put it in perspective again... think about it.. how old our cars are and the parts we're getting lately all new unique stuff yet our cars oldies :) Should be happy im pushing for something like this too! So much cool stuff lately like drop spindles u name it :)

I am seriously considering this too once Jon can get some made. I'm tired of dealing with leaking PS racks.

errrrr. I can't make money fast enough for how bad I want this. Anyone wanting to lighten their load and have a bullet proof rack should be investigating this.

Also I am going to try to make my own out of an old rack. but it won't have the sweet ratio.

well i spoke with Jon yesterday and he said he has CAD drawings now and will email me... he is sometimes slow with emails but eeh... I guess I just want the CAD drawings as a tease.

The hoped for deadline for the racks (by the rx7 guys too) has been end of sept/beginning of oct... We're not the only ones whining/waiting... lool *face palm*.... trust me guys I am more excited than any of you having pushed for this for a while. The only sad part is that I will not be probably able to test out on track/road/etc... until next year even if I get it now as I'll probably be putting the car away as winter comes around this time in canada... so close urgh. I hate winter.
