I want to upgrade my intake and wanted to know what is needed to do this.

I know of two paths that can be taken: 1)Z32 maf, what else is needed to install this besides the air intake pipe, filter, z32 maf, air fuel ratio converter(what brand and type is better and more user frendly).

2)vein pressure converter, i don't know if anything is else is needed to install this or support this

My question is which route is better. Would i need a whole new ecu or computer. Basicly i know very little when it comes to the ca18det car electronic systems and electronic tuning components i only know about the mechanical aspect but i want to learn.

It's all depend what is your need cause a Z32 maf will flow about 450hp , it's quite a lot. If you take a maxima 89-94 maf it will flow about 325hp, both are 3". I would be best to have the ECU retune, cause when you use the S-AFC, it cheat the signal from the maf , but the ignition still use the same ignition that could cause some major isssus, at Higt boost, then might be a good idea to swap some DSM 450cc since if you upgrade the maf is for more power so on with the injector. If you plain to get more than 300hp do the upgrade, if not keep your money !.

If you do plain to get 325hpgo with Maxima maf, 450cc injectorIf you plain to get 350-370hpZ32 maf and still 450cc injector + AFR, or some 555cc injector

If more than that Z32 and some 720cc injector.

FYI - 450cc injectors = ~280hp MAX and 550cc injectors are good for about 350whp MAX. I agree with PulsarDET...ECU retune-do not go with a SAFC as it will only cause tuning problems when you upgrade the injectors.

The VPC has a jumper harness you install between the computer and the OEM harness. It is completely self contained with an air temp and MAP sensor to completely lose the AFM and is the ****. I have one on the Ex's 180 and it works very well with just some knob tweakage.

make your own, that's what I always do. That homemade CD player is still not working right, the laser pointer won't stay still with duct tape.

I used a 3" peice of mandrel bent pipe, and just cut it in half, then cut it to put my Z32 maf in the stock location. then stuck a filter on the end. intake done. a 3" intake pipe is more than enough for just about any turbo under 500HP.
