intake mani butterfly question

hey guys im in the process of gathering parts for my ka-t build and was wondering about the intake manifold. i found the thread about what to do and what to take off for the ka-t build but i want to know if i can remove the butterflies inside the runners and delete the actuator for it.? can you guys help me out and has/ ran this before.? lmk

yes is the answer your looking for. search for ka24de emissions delete. long story short you need to make the intake manifold hold pressure, so no leaky bits.

yes, you can remove them. they are unnecessary, I've removed mine. Just plug the hole that the rod comes out of (near the firewall - but duh anyways) and attaches to the actuator. Some people will say that it's necessary to plug the holes between the runners, but I did not. I probably should have, but from a fluid dynamic's perspective, there's not much too lose. It will only equalize the pressure between the runners a little more - look at custom intake manifolds for our cars where the runners are only 6" long or so and are designed with large volume.

just buy a s14 manifold... it doesnt have the flies in it
