Im suprised nobody has ever talked about this set-up here. Sorry for the Pic Jack, whos ever this is here...i see the intake, but what are these little mini-me filters/"breathers"?Is this a safe mod? ha, what exactly are you suppose to get/gain with these lil'filters. Is this a diy mod, or is there more to than what i see in the pic...

i hope im not the only one wondering about this-sorry if this is a dumb question but i asked the owner but so far no response. if this is safe then im game for this mod on my Injen intake (just need matching red mini-me's)

I use to do a set up like this on my Eclipse GS-T. It is a breather/oil catch can but I am not sure which one is which because I am pretty sure you only need one.

The only difference with my old car is mine was a catch can. I had the hose to a filter that was in a tube tube to catch oil and any other dirt and the air will go back into the intake.

something like that

Instead of those 2 filters, there's supposed to be 1 hose going from the crankcase to the intake - the crankcase breather (part of the PCV system). It's original intention is to allow ventilation by recirculating a very small amount of the combustion gases back into the intake instead of sending all of it directly into the intake manifold. Having the filters enclosed and inline to form a catch can like Bunda describes is a more common form of this mod. I can't think of a compelling reason to have it as shown in the OP's pic.

^ Going to have go with him here. The tube is more functional than the breathers though...
