Can any of the new Rogue owners let us in on their insurance costs for their new purchase...I'm especially interested in the SL AWD w/Prem Pkg & leather. I'm currently driving a 2001 Olds Alero and pay $354.00/6 months.

I'm just curious if there was a huge difference from what people were paying before they listed their Rogue.

Now I know ins. premiums all depend on state, gender, & age (among others), but I was just curious because, as far as I know, there are no listed/recorded crash test/safety ratings available yet.And if there aren't any ratings, how can the insurance companies rate a vehicle with them?

Our agent (State Farm) did not find Rogue listed among the Nissan SUV models, but assigned it to the Crossover category. Our rate is about $380, but of course there will be a wild variance for the above-mentioned reasons, plus coverage levels, deductibles, etc. Our Rogue is only about $8/month more than our 4-year-old Elantra, which has slightly lesser coverage.

I have Geico and I currently pay $372 per 6 mnths for my Sentra. I did a quote for the Rogue and it was the same price. The Rogue wasn't on their list of vehicles but you are able to write it in and they will email the quote.

When I traded in my 2003 dodge neon (purchsed used in 2004 for $7900), my insurance only went up $30 for the entire year for my fully loaded SL AWD (sticker price $27,650). My total 1 year premium for me and my wife for our Rogue and our 2003 Honda Civic was around $1220, and I think the rogue was about $670 for the entire year. This includes a discount since we have our homeowner's insurance through them as well.

When I look at prices you guys had posted I just want to scream ! I use to pay $ 345 a moth and after 6 moth they lowered to $ 303 a moth and I just did new York state defensive driving class which would bring down insurance to $ 279 a moth and this is cheapest insurance I can get some companies give me some crazy quotes like $ 6000 for 6 moth that’s $ 1000 a moth ! And just for record I don’t heave any tickets or major violations no accidents nothing !

The area you live in affects your insurance rates. It's very typical to have higher rates in large metropolitan areas... more traffic, more accidents, more theft. Insurance is all about assessing the risk factors.... more risk = more $$$.

$1000/month seems cheap for living in the five boroughs of NYC!

I used the live in the Hudson Valley (Dutchess County) which is still over an hour outside the city and even then, my rates dropped 30% when I moved back home just north of Albany, NY! I can't imagine what my rates would be if I lived in the city.

My premium went up about 23% when I got the Rogue, but then again I went from a 1999 Mitsy Galant (worth about $3k) to the Rogue. And 23% is from $351 to $434 for 6 months. So i'm pretty happy.

$225 per 6 months, maybe less.

As someone noted above, insurance rates vary from state to state, and within various regions of each state. Claim history, age, etc. factor in, too.

I'm 46 years old, live in upState New York, been with State Farm for 20 years, claim free, etc.

As an insurance agent - the fact that you have an older vehicle and your replacing with a new vehicle, it's going to be more, because it's worth more. For me going from an old 4 runner to a new rogue my premium's went up about 30 bucks a month. From the forum it doesn't seem as if pricing for insurance is out of whack from any other baby suv. But you can always call your agent and give them a vin # from one of the dealer web sites and ask them to quote it for you - that way you will know exactly what your increased cost will be before you purchase.
