Can I install XM in my 07 g35x with the base radio so it is part of the dash radio? Would you need to change out the stock radio and add a sat antenna?

I didn't really want to buy another Roady or similar unit, and have wires and the mount like my other car.

Thanks,

In the 07 model, I believe you have the option of xm or sirius so you might have the capability already. You would just need to purchase a tuner that goes in the trunk if you don't already have it.

personally i would wait to see what happens with the merger idea between xm and sirius. if they get approval to merge, you may have to buy all new equipment (antenna and receiver box) sometime down the road since they use different satellite technologies.

In my opinion, there is no way they will ask all customers to migrate to a new standard. If the merger happens, they will need to support both XM and Sirius existing hardware. I also doubt they will be getting up in space anytime soon to change up the Sat technology. The existing investment in both satellite systems is too extensive.
