I found someone on craigslist selling his 17" sentra wheels. They seem to have a decent amount of tread left on and am wondering how much it would cost to have a shop install the TPMS stuff, or if its even that important. I figure that in about 3 months i'll just new tires anyway.

Thoughts, anyone?

I saw those on there......I beleive that they are part of the Valve stem and can be swapped over to the new wheels......not sure if you have to dismount the tires or not though.....

Tires do need to be dismounted to swap over the TPMS.

Discount Tire wanted to charge me $60 to do the swap when I got the tires for my 17's. I talked them down to $30. You may have similar luck if you have the changeover done at the time you buy tires.

Oh if only it were that simple. Everyone would have the thing disabled then.

Oh I thought it was. In my old 240sx it had a fuse for about everything and if I got annoyed with something I'd just pull the fuse for it and call it good.
