..and the car doesn't vibrate nearly as much! we assume that perhaps since the KA/SR ones twisted the motor over sideways that the transmission mount was binding and being a solid mount more or less causing much of the vibration. It makes enough of a difference that the power is smoother, I'm guessing the whole time before the extra shaking was causing slight throttle variation due to making it much harder to keep the pedal where you think you have it..

The switchout was mostly hassle free other than a rounded nut on the bottom of one, which had to be replaced. Luckilly I had a rounded bolt/nut remover kit I've never used laying around that was finally useful. We just jacked up the car, pulled the wheels, loosened all the engine mount nuts, removing the bottom ones but leaving the top ones on, then jacked up the engine from the front of the oil pan w/ a small block of wood between the jack and the oil pan (no dents, for those who are fearing SR disaster - our oil pans are built like tanks). Had to take off the oil filter to get the passenger side one off, but didn't loose much oil - didn't even show as being any less full on the dipstick; reused same filter obviously as I wasn't changing the oil at the time. Had to use a prybar to force the engine to roll towards the passenger side to get the driver's side mount out, the new one is much smaller so it went in easy. This is likely because the transmission was trying to roll the engine back "straight" which then had it wanting to roll over on its side since it was so far over at that point. The passenger side was easy because of how it naturally rolled over, the driver's only had trouble getting it out.

DEFINATELY get CA mounts, don't go the SR/KA route if you can, shifter doesn't lean to the right and the whole engine sits lower and properly, not to mention things line up properly now and the STB isn't 1mm from the engine anymore (thats WITH the CA specific STB).

Courtesy might be stocking them now, I special ordered them then when I picked them up they claimed they were in stock when I originally ordered (which I know isn't possible, because I made them check before I ordered and waited 6 weeks) .. I'm guessing they just ordered a whole boxfull or such and are now "stocking" them just because of that, and they just have it entered in their system as of the date I ordered mine ... *shrug* I haven't bothered to call them up again and see if they're really in stock or if the guy was confusing them w/ SR parts (I specifically asked at the time, explaining they're not the same, and the parts guy claimed they were stocking them in addition to SR.. )

Now I'm gonna clean up the SR/KA ones and throw them on the local forum FS/trade for slightly used 8 months

I got mine from Courtesy, only took a week. I didn't find them in their searchable catalog but if you email them and ask specifically for them or search the forum for the last post on motor mounts the part numbers are there. Can't remember the specific price but I posted it in the last thread on this topic as well.

Thanks for that writeup Sehn! I knew that the CA mounts made a difference after I installed my motor, but the motor had been out of the car for 6 months, so it's kinda hard to remember exactly how the motor sat in there before.

were the sr/ka ones replaced nismo mounts as well?

either way, would you be able to get a thickness measurement for the CA nismo mounts as well as the origional mounts used.

yes the old mounts were NISMO also.

I don't recall the price off hand, would have to find my invoice since I also ordered some other things at he time so just looking at the total cost would be wrong. In theory it shouldn't have been much more if any than the SR/KA ones.

There's a thread from a few weeks ago about a side by side comparison of the two so I didn't bother taking pics, that and I couldn't find the camera anyways. The main difference is in how much lower the driver's (exhaust) side sits, which restores the proper engine position.

I'd be down for getting a set. I already have the Nismo transmission mount so I'd just need the 2 engine mounts. PM me if you guys are serious about putting something together.

the guy i spoke to claimed ~2 weeks to restock..

don't know why one is sold out, maybe a few people ordered just the left, lower, mount and left the oversized, but not by much, right mount in ..

they are different parts, altho the right ones are nearly the same, to the point of not mattering really.
