Hey everyone, Im pretty new to the forum and just as new to the whole 300zx game as well.

anyway, i just got my car home about a week ago and realized there were a few cylinders misfiring on my twin turbo. So i looked high and low and found on here on an older topic about how common it is for the stock z32 injectors to crap out and cause the engine to run like total garbage. i followed the diag step and fond that my numbers 3, 5, and 6 cylinder injectors weren't firing, besides the fact that the terminals were caked on with corrosion, scraping it of didint help the fact that they weren't ohming out on my fluke meter. So im currently in the process of taking off the plenum to replace all 6 injectors and replace the valve head cover gaskets. So far its smooth enough taking it out since the z32 wiki article on it is very well detailed EXCEPT for the re-installation procedure for the plenum. I was just wondering what gaskets are needed for re-installation and torque specs for the bolts around the plenum, egr pipes, cross over pipe, etc are needed

Thanks alot!

Well first off are u replacing the valve cover gaskets or the head gasket? I'm guessing intake and exhaust valve cover gaskets which in that case the torque should be on z32. The only gasket u really would need to change would be the intake manifold (plenum) gasket. Everything else should be reusable. Also while u have plenum off it would be a good idea for u to do the deletes like the egr and coolant bypass just to name a few. Good luck

i would suggest doing valve cover gaskets, pcv valves, coolant bypass, new fuel lines, iav hoses, and pcv hoses

but if you reinstall everything you would need egr gaskets, a plenum gasket, and a few fuel line clamps since some are bound to strip or break. fuel leaks are common due to loose clamps.

also make sure the clamps to fuel lines are accessible with the plenum on. you may have to tighten them when cold weather comes around.

So i have all the stuff on its way thanks to Rock Auto along. But ive run into a bit of a wall. Im getting into the Valve cover gaskets before my parts arrive and so i have everything set to go and I go things going fairly smooth with no problems. But im trying to get the exhaust cam covers off now, and i just can sneak my wrench behind the EGR tube on the pass side to take off the bottom bolts, and the drivers side is even tighter to get past with the harness in the way. Is there any way to get to those bolts without removing the EGR/tubes?

Also, is there any negitives to doing a coolant bypass?

Thanks in advance!

only if you drive in very cold climates(frozen throttle body).

unfortunately no real good way to do it. I just unbolted everything in the way.
