Just put new injectors and fuel rails in, got everything back together, tried to start. It cranks, but doesn't start. So I checked to see if it's getting spark, then I check the fuel, the pump sound healthy and is certainly pushing fuel through. Next I put some starting fluid in the TB to see if would atleast try to start. It started right up. So I used a noid light to test the injector connectors to see if they were getting power from the ECU and nothing, but if I use a mulitmeter it shows between .4 and .6 for the connectors.

So I'm not really sure what is going on. Only thing that makes sense is the injectors connectors aren't getting power. Do I have to get a new ECU for that, or can I re-route the connectors somehow and bypass the ECU?

Could the CAS be causing something like this?

SO all you did was change out the injectors and rail right? what injectors did you install?

Yup that's all I did... I got the stock 370 kit from Z1 for the old style rails... 370's were in there.. Everything is connected, its getting spark, but just wont fire up...

Was the car running prior to the swap? Did you install the fuel lines correctly? Have you tested fuel pressure? Is your CAS plugged in? Are you sure that you plugged the injectors in correctly? Perhaps post a picture of the injectors installed, maybe we'll be able to pick something out if we see it.

Yes, the car was running prior to install, just the misfire due to two bad injectors, (they were completely dead and read nothing with the ohm test). The fuel lines are installed correctly.. Its getting pressure.. The injectors are definitely connected correctly. They are they new style injectors.. I appreciate the help... Its making me pull my hair out... I also pulled the CAS and spun it to see if they were clicking. We thought we heard them clicking, but when we pulled the coils out they stopped so it must have the coils we heard... It seems as though there just not getting pulse... I will take a picture tomorrow.. Is there any kind of possibility the the new style connectors wouldn't work?

I swapped from Phase 1 injectors to updated STI yellows and mine work brilliantly. Only other thing I can think of is that you're not getting power to the injectors from the main feed which is a 10 gauge white wire in the loom on the front of your DC fenderwell, but that break may be anywhere in the line. Its very unlikely that your ECU just decided to pack up when you did the swap but if you have access to a good known ECU I would try swapping them for S&Gs. This really is an odd issue.

Haha, I've explained it to a few people, who are good with Nissans and they are baffled as well... Maybe I missed a ground or something... I know there was one on the fuel rail, and two on the driver side rear of plenum... Does that sound right?

It does but don't hold me to that. I guess its time for you to Bust out the FSM and start tracing wires. Also have you read the codes off the ECU?

Ok, I feel really effin stupid!!! So when I soldered the new injector connectors, I didn't solder the two wires together, but I shrunk wrap them together without first sealing the individual wires. So both wires from the injector connectors were touching. I just got all the wiring done now, I'm gonna put it all back together and i will report back here and let you know... God I feel dumb...

Oops... Forgot to report back... Got everything back together, (with the wires correctly seperated)... Started right up!! Runs perfectly and not losing any boost, which was a also an issue before, but I think one of the pipes just weren't tight prior to me doing this... Didn't burn anything, injector connectors aren't polarized so it does no harm because only one wire gets power...

Man, too bad I didn't see this earlier as I immediately thought of what you mentioned as your problem, or crossed wires. When I did mine I was REALLY careful for 4 connectors, pretty good with #5, then on #6 I got hap-hazard and then took a break midway, got confused and had to pull #5 and #4 apart to ensure correctness...which was difficult since Nissan used every freakin' color and size of wire known to man on the injector leads.
ANYHOW...glad you're back up and running! :dblthumb:

Yea it was certainly a fun project, with this being the first Z32 i've worked on. Nissan Engineers sure were comical when they designed these. Well everything else is still good, but now i have a coolant leak, looks like it's just coming from the Rad cap though, so no big deal.
