I just bought a 2013 used M37 with the premium package. I took it to get it detailed and found out that the there are permanent stains on the wheels. I have read some threads on other infinity sites that this is fairly common. Has anyone run into to this and has the dealer offered any resolutions?

There are some acid chemicals used to remove brake dust and brighten the wheels.
If used carelessly or incorrectly, they can do real damage to the clear coat.
May be what happened here.
If it happened as a result of their detail, I'd been on them to fix it.
They might need to be stripped and refinished at a body shop. Kind of a big deal.
I don't let anyone spray anything but soap and water on my wheels.

That sucks about your wheels. I would definitely go after the place that did it. You'd think they would be smart enough NOT to use any chemicals but if they do and damage your wheels they should have to pay to fix it. This is one of the reasons I only hand wash my own car and never take it to someone else. I even turn down the free car wash from the dealer most of the time when I get an oil change.

When I bought my '11 37 on ebay, I have tracked down the original owner (first lesee) of the car, and one of the issues he had was wheel staining in the first year of ownership. He had six new rims put on a car in less than 6 months. Never figured out what the problem was.

Glad that I caught this topic.... I just bought a 2012 M37S with the 20" rims..... Are these rims painted? I don't think they or either chrome or polished aluminum. In fact they look exactly like those in Mjkkb2's picture..... And yes, if you use the wrong cleaner, the wheel finish will be affected. So I guess these are painted rims, right?

Yes they are painted, along with some polished metal areas. All of it is clear coated.

Not ideal, but if you run into a situation where they refuse to pay or fix your wheels...if you end up having to fix yourself you might think about plastidrip or something rather than re-finishing or buying new wheels as a cosmetic fix.
