Welcome to NICO!!

I am the neighborhood G forum mod here.

Glad to have you aboard...

Well...if you want to browse the first and second page of this G forum...you might find a couple questions that could use your expertise!

I have a feeling you might get hammered with questions (Go easy on him boys) don't scare him off too fast

Anyways, any suggestions you have are always welcome!

Sean

thanks guys.i answered a few.some questions are too vauge.sometimes with these infinitis, things cant be rigged.ive tried alot of stuff and have had the luck of not paying for all my mistakes.i dont scare easily.i learn the hard way.my roots are with honda and street drags .as i got older and now have a family,i realized that times have changed .i learned to respect leather and paint as they are expensive.its a whole different ballgame.i nearly peed myself when i had to change a crankshaft in a 03 6mt.under warranty!aint nuthing like a b18c.

Welcome - Can I ask a question?

I am looking to make a few modifications to 2006 G35 Coupe to get more horsepower, I was thinking about cold air intake, exhaust and maybe a chip...my question is what mods can I make and not void my warranty? Which manufacturers can I use?

Thanks

Welcome to NICO!

best thing for you to do is check the "Modification Database" thread at the top of the forum, then feel free to ask any questions.

i get a few of these at work, and most never come back.truth is,it is the dealer/tech/service managers call.ive had people have to pay for common problems with a window because of tint.if you can find a tech like me at the dealer, offer him side work and cash.i warranty stuff for cars way out of warranty.watch the chip though.and emission related parts.i had to answer this.good question

the infiniti here actually sucks. in the year and half i've been there we have been thru 3 service managers...a very very high turnover rate of techs...last month about every tech in the shop was making about 60 hours for 2 weeks!

i kinda get ya.we picked up a little after the recalls slowed down, then the headlights started.8 techs used to be 9.like this for 10+ years.sm is a pop tart(sucker)but gets the job done so has managed to keep his job.i like the work.60 is minimun i take.my problem is the haters that been there forever.sm never intervened and ive been to myself for 1 year now.oh,work is on a pile.next up,no matter skill level gets next.not dispatched no teams.and sales suck so csi was cut in half for 1 year now.

I have an 06 G35 coupe with an oil consumption issue. Are you seeing this in other coupes?

Quick oil weight question. The manual and the "official" response from Nissan is to use 5W-30. I live in Phoenix, AZ (really hot summers!) and have had good luck with 5W-40 full synthetic in other cars. Off the record, and not holding you to anything as a dealer employee, do you think there would be a problem using 5W-40 full synthetic? Thanks.

no problem.there is a diagram in the owners manual on the temperature range that the oil works in.weight recommendation will vary in different temps.
