The m35x for me has been a pretty good car so far, no major problems. I think I made a very good choice with the vehicle. And BTW, bestcovery.com rated it as the Best car for reliability in the luxury class : http://www.bestcovery.com/infiniti-m35

Agreed with the previous two comments. My biggest gripe is that the driver seat is showing its age.

Very useful information. I made my contribution by submitting info for the M and the QX.
Before the web, people didn't have much to go on outside of Consumer Reports. I remember when they said that Saturns and Ford Windstars were the top picks, lol.

New stuff this time. We've updated our reliability stats for the M to include owner experiences through the end of 2014. Plus we've added reliability trends graphs. These indicate how a model's reliability has changed as it has aged, and how different model years performed when the same age.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012 M: 27, low, small sample size
2011 M: 34, low
2008 M: 31, low, small sample size
2007 M: 69, moderate
2006 M: 59, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 M: 70, < 1
2006 M: 58, < 1

We'll have further updates in May and in August. Additional participants would be very helpful, especially for years with small sample sizes.

So, how have these cars been doing lately?

Our reliability stats for the M now include owner experiences through March 31, 2015. (Others are nearly a year behind.)

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year ("low" is best):

2012 M: 52, moderate, small sample size
2011 M: 40, moderate
2008 M: 37, low, small sample size
2007 M: 48, low
2006 M: 53, low

Plus, the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 M: 70, < 1
2006 M: 60, < 1

No stat for a model year? Then we very much need more participants for it. Same for those with small sample size notes. Next updates in August and November.

Our reliability stats for the M now cover the year ending June 30, 2015. (Others are over a year behind, and so report how these cars were doing when a year younger.)

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2012 M: 71, high, very small sample size
2011 M: 47, moderate
2008 M: 46, low, small sample size
2007 M: 47, low, small sample size
2006 M: 51, low

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 M: 67, 3
2006 M: 56, < 1

If a model year isn't listed, or its sample size is small, then we especially need more owners involved.

We've updated our reliability stats for the M to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2012 M: 51, moderate, very small sample size
2011 M: 40, moderate
2008 M: 49, low, small sample size
2007 M: 71, moderate, small sample size
2006 M: 63, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 M: 69, < 1
2006 M: 56, < 1

No stat, or a small sample size? Then we especially need more owners involved for that model year.
