A while ago, I ran into the curb and damaged my right control arm.

The mechanic says the control arm is bent. He quoted me a price of $700 with labor. Is this reasonable?

how much does this part cost? and can i do it myself?

Do you mean tension rod (tension bar)? On the J it is ~$85 and while I haven't replaced it myself, it doesn't seem too difficult to do. $700 seems very steep if we're talking about the same part which we might not be.
