Hello Everyone,

I have a 1997 Infiniti J30t with about 230,000 miles on it, and it generally runs well. Recently the Check Engine light has been coming on intermittently. My mechanic informs that the purge valve is the problem, but he cannot find a replacement part. A quick Google search suggested to me that there might have been a change in the part number, but I am not sure. Can anyone advise me on how to obtain this part? Thank you.

Chris

The engine is essentially a generic Nissan V6 so check I30 or Maxima parts. Front or rear drive, the basic engine is there.

I think that the correct part number is 14956v (0192-1293). What is the best way to find this part?

I looked on Ebay, but the part number you gave doesn't bring up a valid J30 part...or a part listed for sale on Ebay
You may want to verify the part number with an Infiniti dealer.
Or call Scottsdale Infiniti, they're always helpful on the phone.

I also came up empty handed at eBay today. I will do as you suggest, but let me explain how this part number came about. This morning I took a paper copy of the J30 service manual to my shop to show the diagrams I had found. I then went to the local Nissan dealer, who narrowed it down to three parts and gave me a diagram. Then I took this information back to my shop, and he gave me the number above.

That part is not what I need, but thank you very much for your effort. I used the chat service at Scottsdale but never heard back. I believe that I was able to find the correct part through Grubbs Infiniti.
