Wouldn't mileage statistics be better than trips per car. A vehicle that does 4000 miles a year will have far less trips than one that may do 12,000 in a given period.

We'd also like to have stats based on mileage. Most cars, though, are driven about 1k/month. It's very much a bell-shaped curve. So we'd need a lot more cars to have stats for those with unusually high mileage.

I can't see how that's a problem. If both the 2008 and 2010 have been very reliable, no reason to expect worse from the 2009.
