bit whats needed to swap a DOHC ka into a d21? I know there are some things that are different between the ka that IVe got now and the newer DOHCs out of the s13 and s14s

It has been covered several times. Try searching the forum.

At minimum you're looking at custom motor mounts, and a full swap of electronics and wiring harness. I also am not sure if the bolt patterns on the bellhousing are the same between the car engines and truck engines.

A truck KA24DE from 98+ would be an easier swap, but they don't make as much HP.
