What? I got my windows tinted a while ago and the guy said nothing about losing my rear window defroster. It still works perfectly fine and everything. I got that tinting film with metal flakes (I'm sure someone on here knows what I'm talking about when comparing it to the cermatic film.)

Back in the earlier days of wire style rear defrosters, the defrosters would heat up the tint and cause it to bubble.

Those days are LOOONG gone. Modern tints hold up to the heat, and the newer defroster systems are more efficient and put out less waste heat.

there is no need to disable/remove the rear defroster if that is what your tint guy is telling you then you better run or find another tint guy!!!

no they didn't.

i've never heard of that and i've had 4 cars tinted all with rear defrost.

i'd go to a different installer.

Your defroster will not affect your tint. You just shouldn't use it for about a month after you get the tint put on. Mine has worked fine and no probs.

Also, I'm not sure how he would take the defroster off. I haven't actually checked mine, but alot of defrosters nowadays are built into the glass itself.
