Ok so it would be better to just get the harness from wiring specialties and wire in the s12 sensors?

I did move the harness and ecu at the same time when this happened. I don't know if that helps any. The harness looks intact from what I can see and it's all wrapped nicely. but moving it shouldn't have caused it to not start so I'm lost on that. it could be something minor or it could be something major. I just don't know much about wiring and don't want to f*** it up...

It shouldn't matter. Like, you should be able to shake the ecu while the car is running and it shouldn't have any effect on how the engine runs. There's either a harness issue, or an ECU issue.

I'm pretty positive it's a harness issue... Like I said I had to move the harness and ecu to see get to the top of the ecu. More specifically I had to move the harness in order to move the ecu... I just need to know if I should gret the wiring specialties harness and go fro there...

I would. Hell, if I build another car at some point, I have every intention of buying a WS harness and then modifying it to suit my needs.

yeah That's what I'm going to do then... I hate having wiring issues t's usually what keeps me from driving my car. I had the same issue with the one in my sig but atleast the P.O. of my current car attempted to do right... I'm just not sure where he went wrong.and really don't have the time patience or know how to pull the harness and dig through it... For the stuff I can't do I take it to a shop but the shop I use the owner is only there on Sundays because he's taking a break from building cars...

Hmm, WHY did it blow? Resistors don't usually fail for no reason. You need to make 100% sure your wiring is spot on. If it's not, you'll just toast the next ECU you plug into it.

Yeah thats what we're trying to figure out.....I said the samething I dont want to buy another ecu just to blow it again... I do know it happened after I moved the ecu when I was trying to trace my maf problem...

Ok I have an ecu on the way. My buddy that's good with wiring looked over the harness and said there were no breaks or anything suspicious looking. His assesment is that one of the wires from the depinned maf plug touched the body of the car and that's what caused the ecu to go....

Me too I think I need a maf though Because I was having maf issues before the ecu went. It was in limp mode wouldn't rev past 2k... I have a z32 maf but no plug for it... and I know I'd have to change the settings on my afc...I just want to get it running how it is now before I make changes...

full circle replaced the ecu and maf checked the tps and the original problem still exists... Dee says to check the fuel pump which is next on the list... anyody got any ideas?

Issues = runs stupid rich while idling when gas is applied it wants to bog out and die but when you let off the gas it struggles but goes back to idling wideband reads 10.0 while idling then goes 14+ when you apply the gas....

Does it have stock injectors in there? And the reason it's showing lean when you hit the gas may be because of rich mis-fires. When you get the mixture much over 10:1, the fuel will fail to start to ignite. When you get a failed to ignite mixture, it will actually show a LEAN situation on the AFR gauge because you have a bunch of air that didn't get combined with fuel. So even though you're rich, it shows lean. Also, have you tried pinching the INCOMING fuel line to reduce fuel pressure and see if the AFR'S come up?

Or maybe you have an injector stuck open or leaking? I have a set of stock-looking injectors laying round the garage that I'd be happy to send you for testing. I just had them running my car, so I know they're good, but IDK if they're DET or DE injectors.

Figured it out afc was bad. yanked it out and the idle smoothed right out and no more rich at idle no I just have to find the boost leak and I think she'll be good.. Thanks for the offer on the injectors but I have a spare set that came with the car...

This sounds like my experience with mid-90s turbo Audi ownership. "Yay its fixed!" *stranded on the side of the road 2 days later*

Float no codes. But I'm am pretty sure it's the maf wiring that's the only thing I can come up with on why it's running in limp mode...

R34 yeah this s*** is getting old lol
