Hey Ilya did you ever Dyno after the intake tubes? I'll probably add them regardless because the look alone is much cleaner. Just curious if you ever got numbers.

No, I think someone else did...not sure which thread though. After they did it I decided not to do it.

So...I had some issues with my PIAA lights (driver side) flickering on and off so I had to go tear it all apart again.

I never did get rid of these iJDMToy fog lights under warranty because that company sucks *** so bad...so I had them laying around. Figured I'd take another stab at getting them to work.

Plugged them in, immediately issues. Mind you, I haven't touched them since I received them back from iJDMToy supposedly 'fixed'. So, I decided to investigate. Here was the issue:

Never buying another item from those scrubs. It's sad when I have to fix the stuff myself to get them to work properly.

Wow, pretty shoddy soldering job from them. I'll make sure to stay clear of iJDMToy too

Yep, had em on all day today and an hour last night and not even so much as a flicker from what I could tell in the cars I was behind. Rock solid. Went through the car wash today too. I'm just happy that over the years I've learned how to do small things like basic soldering jobs like that, etc....otherwise this truly would have been a waste of $100 or whatever they cost me (including shipping to them the first time they broke).

Took a ride up to Arkville, NY with the wife for a fall foliage ride on the Delaware Ulster Railroad and the OEM navigation sent me up an unmaintained public road...the photo op presented itself hah (yes, my fixed-by-me iJDMToy LED lights are still goin strong!):

Ilya,

Great job on finding the issue, are those fog lights or head lights?

Those are great pics of your car, it shows off the lines of the car.

The wife??? Last I read, you were engaged but I didn't know the deal was done. Congrats and years of sheer joy to you both!
Fetucini and I are now legal in the eyes of England, Florida and God, LOL. I signed my wedding vegetables over to her years ago but we made it official this June past in Wilmslow,Cheshire at the family homestead. Lots of strange hats on the women, as expected. Fetucini and I took turns driving about in my Dad's '05 Blue Train! It's in his will for me, you know (not for many many years I hope).

Yeah, got married May 6th. Did our honeymoon to the Maldives and Miami/St. Pete/Clearwater, FL (originally wanted to do Paris -> Zurich -> Rome by car through the alps and then the Maldives but had issues getting passport stuff in time for the EU).

I can't comment on that...I'd reference one of the online tire calculators which will give you the before/after dimensions of said tire on a rim and go from there.

Well done mate! Great find. Usually LEDs with built in resistors have low light or cheap construction. These are very well made and about half the price you would have paid at Retrofit or Vled. I like the color better than my Vled's too!~ I just may change mine out.

Yeah I'm quite happy with these! Wish this company made red ones so I could swap my wifes rears out (those have a resistor box which gets hot).

I got my car from Chicago and I really hate how that leave that weird coating on the aluminum on the engine.

Let me know if you know how to get rid of that.

:). It's too bad progress has stalled out as married life, home ownership, etc. has taken over. I had big plans when I was still single lol. I still do plan to lower it when my OEM suspension finally kicks the bucket...and eventually exhaust when my OEM one rots out thanks to NY. But so far, both are doing quite well after many NY winters lol.

I'll be keeping this car for as long as I can. My thought that is if it starts to cost me $5-6k a year to maintain with actual part replacements, then its time to replace. Otherwise, if all it keeps taking is oil, tires, etc...I'm hoping to get at least another 5 years out of this and hit the 10 year mark with it.

Been a little more than a year since the last update. Nothing has changed for the car aesthetically, I've pretty much abandoned all plans for it due to its age and mileage (2011 and 131kmi today). I intend to keep it another 2 or so years and then replace it with a low mileage '18 or '19 Q70 5.6 or something else entirely like a Lexus LS500.

That being said, since last years post, the following has been done:

  • New Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 A/S+ tires. This was more of a need, not a want...I got a bubble in my front tire during my drive from NY to FL (we moved to Tampa 2 weeks ago).
  • I replaced the front and rear stabilizer links
  • I dropped the car off this morning at a local Nissan dealer for the following work:
    • Power steering rack replacement
    • Coolant flush
    • Transmission flush
    • Front differential fluid swap (I did the rear but the front, the drain plug was impossible for me to get out so I gave up on it last year)
Otherwise, it's just air filters, oil and tires from here on out until the day she gets replaced. At least 2 of my 4 wheels are bent and one is missing a center cap (which I can't find a replacement for since it's a one-off design) and they are pretty scuffed at this point so there is some vibration there, etc. Also, my exhaust must have a small hole or two because while it sounds pretty good, I'm probably down on power ever so slightly.

Current pic of the car in its new home area. From far away, it looks amazing lol.

I actually live just north of Brandon, a few exits up (do most of my shopping in Brandon). I don't really do meets...just isn't my thing (I went to one BBQ that was put on by a few folks here back in NJ like 7 or 8 years ago but that was about it). If you ever see me around, be sure to say hello.

I was cross shopping Lexus and you just get so much more return on your money with the Infiniti. I was eyeing up LS460s and sure they have more options, that I don't need, I would be buying a car with more miles and much older. That being said the Toyota is a quality product and does offer some stuff you can't get. Thankfully the Q has everything on my really need/want list! I didn't shop the 500s so not sure if they have any big ticket issues but the 460s had control arm bushings, air suspension (if equipped), and brake master cylinder failures that were all multiple thousands to repair.

Yeah I had thought about the future if I decide to not stick with infiniti. I don't know about you guys, there's just some thing about the M, I can't get a grip on other sporty sedans styling comparatively. Then the list goes on petty stuff it does that if some thing else doesn't do I'm going to be disappointed. Like just out of curiosity has any one else utilized the fact that you can lock it running with the fob or the door request buttons? I guess I just haven't had a vehicle that would allow it? Definitely tried friends/roommates smart key vehicles to see if they could and nope.
