I have a rebuilt starter (new solenoid), new ignition cylinder w/wiring harness, new starter relay. It is intermittent but when I try to start it, I get the "click". Sometimes I get it a few times then it will eventually click over. The only other thing I haven't checked is the wire from the battery to the solenoid itself. Any thoughts, because this is friggen irritating.

My car always acted EXACTLY the same way. My problem was a loose connection on the slide-on ground.

good luck

Had a friend of mine who owns a alternator shop/ custom 4x4 shop, look at it...He put in a push button that bypasses the the key type ignition. Its sweet....don't have to depress clutch and can't start it without the key...theft deterrent too!...Nice, especially when your out wheelin'...!

I took it out and tested it personally before I put it back in the truck and it worked perfectly. Plunger sucked in and pushed the rod on the motor out to the flywheel. No problem there until I installed it and ran it through the ignition wiring in my truck. I am sure its one of the wires in the harness somewhere..
