my ignition coil is reading 1.3 ohms, fsm states it should be around .7ohms. thats almost double the resistance it should have. i was wondering if anyone would do me the favor of testing their coil, if your car is running in top shape and post up the results please.

thanks

fuel pump is at .9, fsm states around .5 ohms. but i think its close enough.

reason for this is im trying to track down a bogging problem i keep getting. spark plugs indicate that the engine is healthy and are burning the fuel like they should. if it was fuel i think it would cause hesitation and a little bucking.

set your multimeter to ohms and touch the two probes, you will get around .6 ohms so you are reading .7 ohms. i was at spec when i tested mine. ignition coils just dont fail on the 240sx. you can search the forums and you wont find either of these facts anywhere else which makes you wonder about these forums.

zero your multimeter. touch the two probes coming from multimeter. you will read .6 ohms when it should be zero. most multimeters read about .6 ohms intstead of zero when there is no resistance.

your right, mine settles at .3 ohms when the probes touch. so it looks like the coil is pretty close to specs.

i still need to figure out why my car keeps bogging out.

i think im a dumbass......maybe?. well today while i was driving i was thinking maybe the air flow is getting restricted so when i got home i checked the air filter. last time i checked the filter it was fine about a month ago, between then i removed the resonator piping. when i opened the filter housing there was a yellow i rag in there that i keep to clean the dipstick and my hands when i work on her.

i pulled the rag out and drove the car around and she drove wonderfully. though i need a little more seat time to see if that was real problem.

still clearly the problem comes and goes.

right now i wish the part thats causing the problem would just give out already.

i did a full tune up a few weeks ago, the whole spiel.

i unhooked my engine temp sensor and the car ran great. when the harness is disconnected from the temp sensor the e fan turns on but with it connected it shuts off.
