No, because your car isn't a Datsun...

Make it say NISSAN.

Your car looks too new to have that logo on it man. Do what you want tho :)
Your fuel rail might be better secured by something like this. Just cut an inch length of an aluminum L bracket and drill holes through it. They have 2x4 also. Not quite sure the dimensions u need. Yeah it's like 50 bucks for 4ft of this though lol.

We'll got my manifold and down pipe. And waste gate and dump tube on. Just got to tighten down the turbo bolts now and bolt intercooler piping up. Fill the fluids and fire it up!

the bracket design i copied ImageImage
well got the car running fora few seconds, checked my spark, coil three is week but firing, does the ignitor need to be bolted to something? got to find out. i check spark timing twice. and it seems to not be getting fuel, so i am thinking injector issue, not sure how or where, but i got a couple thinks i am going to check to see if they are firing, and if they have the correct voltage. so tomorrow that will be the mission.

Igniter does not have to be bolted to anything. If you look at the wires, to it there us a ground wire that goes to, the ground section on the intake mani. (I did the full diagnostic procedure for code 21 which I know more about this ignition system than I ever wanted to know, lol)

Ben, I posted what it most likely is on your facebook. Check the egi pump relay under the hood. It's most likely not getting a good connection. Jump the 2 prongs on the passenger side of the relay.

Well I checked the injectors they are firing. And fuel pumps are priming. And definitely got pressure at the fuel rail. I know this from fabing up brackets for the fuel rail. I am going put some oil in the spark plug holes. Because the motor has sat dry so long it might need it for compression. Its worked before. I need to check the maf wiring since I lengthened it. Its throwing a code 12. Cas is timed correctly. But even with it throwing code twelve it should still start. I rechecked plugs. And cam timing was fine when I parked it. Spark is good. It is getting fuel. I might spray starting fluid in a vacuum line as cranking it to see what happens

Actually out work on the car right now. My fuel was bad I had to pump it out. And put new fuel in. I just put all the interior back together. Installed a new ignitor. Now I am going make a splash sheild for the air intake. And then adjust the rear coils so I can drop it down on its wheels. Just need to set the Cas timing again and I think it should be good to go. Then just waiting for the snow to melt so I can get it to the highway for a midnight test run lol

Image engine bay just about ready to go, just got to mount the AVCR silanoid.

sexy turbo, i am wondering if the turbo setup can rev out to 9000 because i am thinking about doing solid lift cams in the future.

what better use for a washington lisence plate
Image as a splash sheild for my intake

and here is how it looks on the inside

And it will be on the back side of the heat sheild to protect it. fan wiring corrected, and the defi controller mounted and regrounded, fumes in the shop forced me to leave because i am urethaning a log bed i made for my wife and i

Allrighty you were right about the gas. I pumped it all out and put fresh fuel in and it ran. But I had messed around with my Cas timing that it was confused. So we reset my cas and it cranked and was catching like it would almost start up but then wouldn't. So then we had the Cas rotated all the way towards the back of the car and it started and wouldn't Rev over 500 rpm. So we figured it need to move that way a little more. Pull the Cause back out and set it correctly but at a way that gives me more rotation to the back. Well it starts up and is reving up to almost 2500ish and still not idling really. 400-500 rpm. We pulled the Cas again but accidentally put it in 360 degrees off so just cranked. Pulled the valve cover off so we could see the came and cas to know it was correct. And now its just cranking not coughing or anything. I have two ignitors that I switch back and forth but it has started on either. I also bridged the fuel pump relay but that didn't help any thing. Ecu is code 55, we have been using starting fluid. But we got one pretty badly back fire. So we kinda laid off that.

When I had a CAS issue on track, it was very similar. Car had a terrible time starting...took some pumping of the pedal and it would sputter/fart/not run, and then fire off. Once it ran though, it ran fine almost all morning until lunch hour, when I came off a session, the revs dropped, and it stalled out...and didn't restart. I tried doing a quick diagnostic and recognized that I did not have spark/intermittant spark. It would run, but poorly, and then stall...sometimes not start at all

Took the cas out, opened it up, and could immediatly detect that burnt electronics smell, and noticed a brown dust on the inside. Replaced the CAS, and all was well.

It seems like the optical sensor is what takes a s*** in these things more than anything (bent wheels occasionally, but that's rare). With that said, this entire time the CAS was not throwing a code.

All considered, I'd say it's a CAS issue more than anything. Ignitors do fail, but not all at once.

I may have a spare pickup head I can send you if you like to test out. Shoot me a message on facebook if you want to try one, I can have it shipped to ya Monday in a flatrate box.

I did take that cover off didn't see anything strange or smell anything. But I need to try something.
