Gass prices are going high in Toronto area. I used Premium (91 octane) so far in my I35 2002.
Just want to check if anyone using 87 octane or 89 octane and see any issues?

I have used lower octane gas, both 87 and 89. Some knocking and pinging but only occasionally and not that bothersome to me.

Nissan will recommend premium fuel for max performance. I generally stick with premium but have been alternating between that and super when the prices get too high.

I've been using 89 for the past 2 years with no issues.

For as long as you are not lead-footed and don't do hard starting, regular will do the job. But in our case, we use premium in all the Infiniti cars.

I ran mid-grade in my I30 for a while and it seemed to do fine, but switched back to premium a couple of months ago and haven't went back. I get better fuel economy and it's not enough difference to warrant saving $.10/gal IMHO.

If it were only $0.10 a gallon more here, I wouldn't even think about it. Try $0.13-$0.14 per liter. Or about $0.50 more per US gallon.

I use regular on my 2000 I30, it shouldnt make that much of a difference with the I30. The only big difference is the .5 liters added in 2002. I have a friend with a 2004 G35 and he has been putting regular in it ever since he got it.
