I30 Gas Milage

Hi all,I just picked up 1999 I30 Limited and after running a couple of tanks of premium through it, I am only getting about 20 MPG. Is this normal? I doubt that there are any mods on the engine and it seems to run good. Besides a full tune up, checking all replaceable parts, can anyone point me to something that would help me. Thanks,The Newbie

City or highway driving? 20mpg sounds about average for an I30.

When I was checking it out on Edmunds, it showed 20/28 City/highway and I have seen a couple of posts that claim they were getting 25 MPG. I would just like to here from a couple more 99 I30 owners to see if my expections were set a little high by the stuff on Edmunds.

My wife's car usually only get 20-22mpg with the short commute she has ~10 miles. The best I've gotten out of it on the highway is 28mpg.
